




The University of the Cumberlands (UC) basketball programs are two of the most highly touted programs around the NAIA. The men's program has made numerous NAIA National Championship Tournament appearances in its history and has a storied former head coach in Randy Vernon who was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame. The women's team has also had its fair share of runs in the NAIA National Championship tournament including a run to the Elite 8 in 2009. The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team defeated all odds this weekend in Frankfort, defeating the #2 seeded Georgetown College Tigers 60-54, winning the Mid-South Conference (MSC) championship on Sunday. Winning the tournament twice now in the past 4 seasons, the Patriots proved to the Conference to never count out the underdogs, as they not only defeated Georgetown, but upset the #1 seed Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders in semi-final action.

The University of the Cumberlands Men's Basketball team has high expectations going into the Mid-South Conference Tournament on Friday. Before that happens though, the league honored its best and brightest at its yearly banquet held on Thursday night at the Capital Plaza Hotel in Frankfort, KY.
This season, two Patriots stood out in the minds of the coaches across the Mid-South Conference (MSC) as they were named to the First Team MSC All-Conference team.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team looked to close out their season with a bang this week, as they took on St. Catharine College and Campbellsville University in the last week of Mid-South Conference (MSC) play. With a close loss to St. Catharine on Thursday night and a strong win against Campbellsville on Saturday, the Patriots finished the regular season 17-11 overall and 9-7 in MSC play giving them the #5 seed in the Mid-South Conference Tournament.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball Team had a tough start to their week but ended with a bang as they fell to the Georgetown Tigers on Thursday night but redeemed themselves with a big overtime win over Shawnee State on Saturday afternoon. With a loss and win on the week, the men move to 16-10 overall with an 8-6 record in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play, tying them for third place in the MSC.
