The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Golf team had one goal in mind coming into the week: Win the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Championship for the 2012-2013 season and head to the NAIA National tournament.  The UC Patriots participated this past Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday in the MSC Championship at Maywood Country Club in Bardstown, KY.  The tournament was played a little different for the men this year compared to past, instead of playing 36 holes on Monday they decided to make it a three day tournament and play 18 holes each day.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Golf team has been on a tear in recent weeks.  They just recently won their fourth straight Mid-South Conference (MSC) Tournament Championship and look to be in great position for the NAIA National Championships.  This past week however, one Patriot gained notice of his excellent play by the Mid-South Conference. 

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Golf programs are currently in the midst of bringing home more hardware from the Mid-South Conference Championships as they have high hopes to continue their success of the season.  Both programs have continued to build off their success as they push towards another NAIA National Championship appearance.  The Patriots have also been hard at work in the classroom as numerous Patriots received recognition for their hard work. 

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Golf team participated in the Rome News-Tribune Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Stonebridge Golf Club in Rome, Georgia.  The Patriots had a solid first round shooting a 290 (+2) giving them a 5 stroke lead over Walters State CC who shot a 295 (+7).  The second day, the Patriots were able to show their strength as the wrapped up the tournament firing an even par 288 (E) for a two day total of 578 (+2), earning yet another tournament victory.  Coming in second place was Walters State CC who shot a 294 (+6) in round two for a total of 589 (+13).

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Golf team has a lot of pride in its work.  With numerous tournament victories this season, the Patriots know that they still have room to improve heading into the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Championships and the NAIA National Championships.  This past week, one Patriot stood out among the rest and for his work was awarded by the MSC.
