WILLIAMSBURG, KY- On Friday February 24th, University of the Cumberlands (UC) student teachers at Whitley County Intermediate School, Alyssa Burke (Corbin, KY), Alicia Smith (Williamsburg, KY), Jessica Stanfill (Williamsburg, KY), Jessica Wimmers (Bellevue, KY), Susanna Wyatt (Williamsburg, KY), and Mallory Mathena (Latonia, KY), hosted a fitness seminar to promote health awareness to the third-sixth grade students.  They were assisted by Heath Davis and Tori Henderson.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Football program is continuing one of its best off-seasons to date as Head Coach John Bland and coaching staff have continuously been on the recruiting trail.  With already 31 new recruits signed for the 2012 season, Bland and the Patriots are pleased to welcome 16 more new signees to the Patriot roster.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Football program is one of national recognition.  When people think of college football at the NAIA level and speak about Cumberlands, people know who you are talking about.  They know that UC is one program year in and year out that is going to compete for a spot in the NAIA National Championship tournament and have that chance of making a run for a NAIA National Title.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Patriots football team is in the spotlight once again, this time making news in the state of Kentucky.  Two current players are being awarded an outstanding honor for their special play on the field in 2011.  Terrance Cobb (Knoxville, TN) and Brendan Kelly (Lexington, KY) have recently been named to the 2011 Kentucky All Commonwealth Team.  These young men will be honored at the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Louisville, KY on June 15, 2012.
