The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Golf team competed in the 2011 Fall NAIA Preview this past week in Greeneville, Tennessee. The team got off to a steady start in the first round, but trailed Lee University by five strokes and fell a little further behind on day two.

The Patriots struggled a bit on the course finishing sixth in the event with a team score of 640.  Lee University, a prior opponent for UC at the Bill Sergent Invite, won the NAIA Preview shooting a 617.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Golf team began their 2010-2011 season off right with a big win at the Bill Sergent Invite. Their next challenge was to win back to back tournaments in the fall as they participated in the Don Bishop Invitational in Campbellsville, KY.

The Patriot ladies are looking to bounce right back in 2011-2012 with another successful year and with a large core of returners, it is a goal that can easily be reached.

The University of the Cumberlands women's golf team had a very successful year as they ended their 2010-2011 season ranked 17th in the nation, just missing out on a 2011 NAIA National Championship Tournament bid. Not only though did the Patriots do well on the course, but in the classroom as well.

Whitney Blankenship (Racoon, KY) was named a 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete.
