Men's Wrestling - Sat, Mar. 3, 2012

Recently the NAIA recognized wrestling athletes who were named 2012 scholar athletes. There were 23 athletes from various schools who participate in the men's wrestling programs who were disciplined enough to earn this honor.  University of the Cumberlands (UC) junior Zachary Barkett (Woodbridge, VA) was the lone Patriot to earn the elite honor.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Wrestling team hosted the NAIA Eastern Group Qualifier this past weekend hosting some of the top teams in the country including Campbellsville University, Missouri Baptist University, Lindsey Wilson College, Shorter University, Indiana Tech, Calumet College, Cumberland University, and Truett-McConnell.

On Saturday, the University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Wrestling team traveled to Shorter College in Rome, Georgia to compete in the Shorter College Duals.  Shorter College went into the duals ranked #16 in the nation and defeated the #15 Patriots 28-14.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Wrestling team traveled to Columbia, KY on Tuesday, January 31stto compete in a Mid-South Conference (MSC) dual against the Blue Raiders of Lindsey Wilson College (LWC). The results didn't come up in the Patriots favor as they lost their first MSC dual this season in a final score of 15-22, giving the team a 3-1 overall record in the Mid-South Conference.
