The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Basketball programs are proud to announce the impressive list of this season's Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes which was released by the National Association of the Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) on Monday afternoon.  With a total of 7 players making the list from the men and women's programs, Cumberlands has once again proved exactly why it has become one of the most successful schools in NAIA Division I basketball.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team saw their season come to a heartbreaking end as they slipped up in the 2nd round of play in the NAIA Division I National Championship Tournament in Kansas City.  Facing the heavy-favored Lions from Emmanuel College, the Patriots put forth their best effort, however, it wasn't enough to tame the Lions as they were defeated 73-51.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team kicked off the 2014 Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men's Basketball NAIA National Championship Tournament with quite the bang, pulling off the first upset of the tournament with an 82-58 win over #9 ranked Rocky Mountain College in first round action.  The Patriots, who just made the final cut for the prestigious tournament last week after a strong showing in the final two weeks of the season, will advance to the Sweet Sixteen round and face the Lions of Emmanuel College on March 21st at 9:00 am.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team was upended in the semifinal round of the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Basketball Championship Tournament to Georgetown College on Saturday 76-69 in overtime.  The loss moved the Patriots to 19-11 overall, but still was an impressive enough showing in the tournament to move UC into the final NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team saw their season slip away on Saturday afternoon as they fell to the Tigers of Georgetown College in overtime 76-69 during semi-final action of the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Tournament.  Although the finish wasn't exactly what the Patriots had hoped for, there were many bright spots throughout the season as Cumberlands sits at 19-11 overall and saw multiple players earn Mid-South Conference honors athletically and academically.
