[Swimming] Patriot Female Swim Team Honored by CSCAA for Fall 2012 Academics

The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has announced the Scholar All America Team Awards for Fall 2012. The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Swimming and Diving Team has been recognized as one of the top NAIA schools to earn the prestigious honor.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Swimming program recently finished off a stellar 2012-2013 season at the NAIA National Championships with a 3^rd place finish. With numerous All-American award winners and one NAIA National Champion, the Patriots came away with high goals for next season. The final NAIA Coaches Poll was released on Friday and the Patriots will have a target on their back for next season.

With a great coaching staff and being able to bring in top quality athletes to help make the Patriots one of the best in the country, this honor has been defended once again.

[Swimming] Patriot Swimming Finishes Highly in NAIA National Championships

This past weekend, the University of the Cumberlands (UC) Patriot swim teams traveled to Oklahoma City, OK to compete in the 2012-2013 NAIA National Championships. The Patriots wrapped up their season in an extraordinary fashion.

The women's team came home with one national champion in sophomore Charlotte Parent (Braine-l'allaud, Belgium) in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:05.30. The women's team also had 12 All-Americans and Honorable Mention All-Americans while the men's team had 7. Head coach Eric Skelly was voted the NAIA Women's Coach of the Year. The men's team placed 6^th out of 16 teams with a score of 254.5 points while the women placed 3^rd out of 18 teams with a score of 367.

[Swimming] Patriot Swimmers Earn NAIA Scholar Athlete Honors

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) has always taken pride in its athletic programs in their ability to produce on the field as well as in the classroom. As the season has come to an end, the NAIA has released its list of 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Thirteen men and 28 women's swimming and diving student-athletes earned this honor overall. This year, the Patriots swim team had four Daktronics-NAIA scholar athletes.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Swim teams is in their final stages of preparation as they head to Oklahoma City, OK for the NAIA Swimming National Championships. With over 20 swimmers qualified for the event, the Patriots also carry a high ranking into the meet as they look to come home with an NAIA National Championship.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Swim teams traveled to Columbia, KY to participate in the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Invitational hosted by Lindsey Wilson College on February 8^th & 9^th. After a great showing from the Patriots, both the teams finished in first place with the women scoring 933.5 points while the men scored 746 points during the meet.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Swim program has had a stellar 2012-2013 season thus far as they prepare themselves for the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Invite in just under two weeks. As they Patriot ladies held the #1 ranking in the NAIA for a chunk of the season, one Patriot in particular had a stellar month and for her efforts was recognized by the NAIA.

On Tuesday, the NAIA released its latest edition of the NAIA Top 5 Coaches Polls and both the men and women continue to stay ranked in the polls.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's swim teams had a jam packed weekend. On Friday, the Patriots traveled to Danville, KY to compete against Centre College. On Saturday, UC hosted Berea College for its final home meet of the season, which was Senior Day at the Dinah Taylor Aquatic Center. Both days were full of excitement as the Patriots brought home two big victories for both the men and women's teams.

On Saturday, the University of the Cumberlands (UC) men and women's swim teams traveled to Campbellsville, KY to take on Campbellsville University. Both teams did extremely well as they coasted to big victories. The Patriot ladies took home a 119-59 victory while the men won by a score of 108-11.

With the great starts for both programs, the NAIA has taken notice as both teams have been voted into the top 5 teams in the country.

This past weekend the University of the Cumberlands (UC) men and women's swim teams competed at home against Lindsey Wilson College. The Patriots blew Lindsey Wilson out of the water with 24 first place wins and an automatic time standard from Melissa Peplinksi in the 500 free with a time of 5:26.23. The women's team finished with a score of 134-70 and the men 142-61.

[Swimming] Patriot Swimming Has Solid Showing at WKU Hilltopper Invitational

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Swim teams traveled to Bowling Green, KY to participate in the Western Kentucky Hilltopper Invitational November 15-17th. After a great showing from the Patriots, both the teams finished with great times and even more national qualifying times. The women's team finished 3rd with 321 points and the men finished 2nd with 493 points.

[Swimming] Swim Patriots Cruise in Double Meet over Milligan and King

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Swim teams hosted King College and Milligan College in a double dual meet on Saturday, November 10th. After a great showing from the Patriots, both the men and the women's teams came out ahead earning victories over both Milligan and King. The Patriot ladies defeated King by a score of 115.5-70.50 and Milligan by a score of 122-57. The men also won both meet, upending King 133-49 and Milligan 126-57.
