Coach Javier-Gali Rodriguez begins his 2nd season as a Patriot assistant coach.
Coach Gali returns to Cumberlands as he finishes up his Bachelors degree in Exercise and Sports Science.
During his playing career he transferred to UC for his junior and senior seasons helping to lead the team to one of its best two year stretches in program history. As a third baseman/catcher, Coach Gali helped guide the Patriots to 78 wins during his time in the lineup. The Patriots got ranked as high as #5 in the National Polls his senior season with a 43-16 (17-2 MSC) record.
During his career at UC, he was a .374 hitter with 125 hits (26 doubles, 7 triples, 19 homeruns) and 99 RBIs. He had 14 stolen bases to go along with 42 walks. Coach Gali also had a .596 slugging percentage and a .912 fielding percentage.
Coach Gali was named 1st Team All MSC for the 2007 season and was Honorable Mention All MSC in 2008. After graduation, he signed a professional contract with the Corpus Christi Beach Dogs of the Continental Professional Baseball League.
Coach Gali's duties include day to day operations, recruiting, working with the hitters, and working with the infielders/catchers.
