Chris Kraftick is entering his fifth full season as the men and women's Head Golf Coach. He hails from Wooster, OH and now resides in London, KY with his wife, Rebecca, and his three children; Lynsey (15), Mason (10), and Emory (6).
Kraftick attended Wooster High School where he was a four-year letterman. During his high school golf career, he was recognized as an All-Conference player in 1993 and won the Team MVP in 1993. He was graduated from Wilmington College in 1998 with a degree in Elementary Education where he was named an All-Conference player his junior and senior years and received the Team Outstanding Player Award.
In 2000, Kraftick became the assistant golf professional at Crooked Creek Golf Club in London, Kentucky, before taking over as the Head Golf Pro in 2004. He qualified for the Kentucky Open four times during that span. Also in 2004, Kraftick reached the professional ranks as he became a member of the PGA.
Kraftick played and excelled in golf at the collegiate level and has always had an interest in coaching. He started his coaching career as an assistant at North Laurel High School in London, KY in 2004 before taking over the head ranks in 2006-2007.
Coach Kraftick has developed both the men and women's golf programs into extremely successful teams. Over the past four seasons, the men have 25 tournament wins, 4 MSC Regular Season Titles, 4 MSC Tournament Titles, and have been to 4 NAIA National Tournaments. The 2011-2012 season ended with the Patriots 5th in the NAIA National Poll and 5th in the NAIA Tournament. The Patriots also had 1 NAIA All-American, 3 GCAA All Americans and 4 MSC All-Conference selections in 2011-12. Kraftick has also been named the MSC Coach of the Year each of the last four seasons. He was also named the GCAA South Region Coach of the Year in 2011-2012.
The women's program has had its own share of success. In 2011-12, they were the Mid-South Conference Regular Season Champions and MSC Tournament Champions, finishing 14th in the NAIA National Tournament. The women have a record of 233-139-3 over the past four years including 11 tournament wins. The Women also had a 32-1 record in the MSC in 2011-12. In 2010-11 Kraftick was named MSC Women's Coach of the Year.
Kraftick commented, "We are very proud of the program we have built here at UC. Our players are invested and have very high expectations of themselves and their teammates. We work hard to produce not only great players but great people."
