
Alaina Berube returns to the Patriot mat as Head Coach for the Patriots. A part of one of the top female wrestling teams in the country, Berube has contributed to the team in many ways; coaching being one of the few.
Having graduated from Cumberlands in 2007 with a Public Health and Exercise & Sports Science major, Alaina compiled many honors and awards as a student-athlete.
During her tenure as a Cumberlands wrestler Alaina was a 2X Junior National Champion, earned 4 th place in the Junior World Championships, a 3X College National Champion, a 2X Pan Am Champion, a United States Olympic Team Alternate, a Senior National Champion, a 2X 3 rd place University World Member, a 2X Senior World Team Trial Runner-up, a 2X University National Champion, a 3 rd place University World Member, and an 8 th place Senior World Team Member.
With much wrestling experience, Alaina has validated herself in the sport. She is a USA Wrestling Bronze Certified Coach and has helped coach wrestling at the Victory School of Wrestling, Michigan and Wisconsin Junior National Teams, River Falls High School, Escanaba High School, River Falls Middle School, and Escanaba Youth Wrestling.
"I really enjoy University of the Cumberlands," said Berube. "It is where I wrestled and where I received my degree. I loved going to school here as a student-athlete and I like working here as a member of the Patriot Coaching staff. I strongly support the sport of Women's Wrestling and especially Cumberlands talented team of athletes."
Currently, Cumberlands women's wrestling is ranked 2 nd in the country with many top athletes represented. "I love working with young athletes who are in the same position I was just a few years ago," said Berube.
