Barnes hails from Fairfield, OH where she was graduated from Fairfield High School. She is the daughter of Lynn and Jeff Barnes. She stands at 5?11 and plays at the net as middle and right side hitter.
Former UC Head Volleyball Coach Amanda Walton, who recruited Barnes said, ?Erika Barnes is an outstanding young lady. She came to the University of the Cumberlands for a recruit day back in the fall and immediately I sensed she would be a great addition to the UC volleyball team. Erika is a young woman of few words, but her actions on the court speak volumes about her abilities. I am anticipating that she will step in as a freshman and contribute to the success of our program. I am excited to see how she will help us in the upcoming season. Erika knows the game of volleyball well and I know Coach Clemenz is looking forward to working with her as she continues to excel as a player. I believe the University of the Cumberlands Volleyball program is a great fit for Erika. She has already established good chemistry with the current members of the team during her visit to UC. They are all looking forward to welcoming their new teammate to campus and to the team.?
