The University of the Cumberlands Women’s Golf Team traveled to Campbellsville, KY to compete in the Don Bishop Invitational at the beginning of the week where the ladies finished 6th with a combined score of 910. Rounding out the weekend the women traveled to Danville, KY to compete in the Old Bridge Fall Invitational hosted by Centre College. Tied for 2nd, the ladies finished with and overall team score of 432.

The ladies struggled in the first round at Campbellsville, but the second round of play was better. Freshman Katie Akins (Corbin, KY) led the ladies placing 32nd with a score of 205. Placing 33rd was Freshman Margaret Warren (Claypool, IN) with a final score of 211. Junior Shannon Schottelkott (Greenfield, OH) placed 34th with a score of 217. Finishing off the team was Junior Emily Sturgill (Pineville, KY) finishing 40th with a score of 277.

On Saturday at Centre College, the ladies competed in the Old Bridge Fall Invitational hosted by Centre College. Tied for 2nd, the ladies finished with an overall team score of 432.

Warren led the team placing 8th with a final score of 99. Coming in 10th was Akins with a final score of 102, Shannon Schottekott came in 12th with a score of 103, and Emily Sturgil placed 17th with a score of 123.

The ladies will be finishing off their fall season with their last tournament when they compete at the Lindsey Wilson College Fall Invitational October 9-10, 2006 in Burkesville, KY.
