Williamsburg, KY – The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Golf team just wrapped up their season at the NAIA National Championships.  Numerous Patriot ladies have had standout moments during the season, but one Patriot had an outstanding year and was honored for her efforts on the course by the NAIA.

Junior Kaitlyn Riley (JR/Lawrenceburg, KY) was named a Third Team NAIA All-American, officials announced on Wednesday.  Riley, who was also named a First Team Mid-South Conference (MSC) All-Conference and Academic All-Conference selection, helped lead the Patriots to both the Regular Season MSC Title and the team's sixth straight MSC Tournament Championship.

She turned in another fine performance at this year's NAIA National Tournament, finishing the weather-stricken 54-hole tournament at eight over par (+8) to earn a third place finish. This was her second straight season earning a top-three finish at the National Championship Tournament after earning the win in the 36-hole weather-shortened tournament last season.

Riley finished the regular season ranked 10th in Golfstat's ratings at score vs. par and ninth in ratings adjusted. She averaged shooting a 76 on the season over 19 rounds tallied, including a 3.95 ranking versus par. She was the second ranked golfer in the Mid-South Conference regular season just behind fellow Third Team NAIA All-American Cassidy Scantland from Campbellsville.

Head Coach Taylor Riggs commented, "Great year for Kaitlyn, especially being named a 3rd team All-American. I'm really looking forward to her continuing her success in the fall!"
