Silvis, Ill. – Ben Kendrick (JR/Danville, KY) carded a four over to finished tied for 35th after the first round of the NAIA Men's Golf Championships at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.
Kendrick started off on hole number 10 shooting a bogey, but three birdies to follow would put him at -1 through nine holes. On the second nine Kendrick would start off shooting par and he would do so on three more holes, but five bogeys would give him an opening round score of 75 (+4). Kendrick sits six strokes behind first place.
After round 1 individually Rown Lester from Texas Wesleyan leads with a 69 (-2) and Cardinal Stritch Univeristy leads the team scores with a team score of 289. Others from the Mid- South Conference, Cumberland University finished round one in 26th posting a team score of 329 and Rasmus Lind finished the day in 67th, shooting a 78.
Kendrick will tee off for round two at 2:20 p.m. central time from hole one on Wednesday.
