The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Cross Country team traveled cross country this past week as they competed in the University of San Francisco Invitational. This was a meet that each of the ladies raised money to go to as they competed against numerous NCAA Division I teams. The Patriot ladies would earn an 8th place finish out of 10 teams.
Senior Danielle Hoop (Owenton, Ky.) led the way finishing in 16th place with a time of 18:52. Following her was Margaret McGaha (Beavercreek, Ohio) in 39th place with a finishing time of 19:54. Her twin sister Maureen McGaha (Beavercreek, Ohio) crossed the line just behind in 46th place in 20:09. Shelby Gibbons (Hamersville, Ohio) was next to finish with a time of 20:37, good enough for 55th place. Sydney Freeman (Corbin, Ky.) finished 4 seconds behind at 20:41 in 58th place. Finally, it was Madison Peace (Walton, Ky.) who finished in 66th place as she crossed the finish line with a time of 21:11.
