The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Soccer program hosted their summer youth camp from Monday July 7th through Thursday July 11th. The Patriots camp staff including players Dakota Gadd and Victoria Paynter along with UC Head Coach Joe Townsend worked with their 20 campers on the fundamentals of soccer.
During the multiple sessions of camp, the athletes worked on drill work including efficient passing, open field dribbling, heading, and tactical shooting. The campers also competed in short field, short team scrimmages where they were able to utilize what they learned from the staff this week.
Coach Townsend commented, "We have enjoyed a great camp this year, working with local players and also players from further afield. It is always great to see the next generation of soccer players coming through and also see the growth of soccer in the region and the country as a whole. The girls have all done a great job and have shown quality and hard work in everything they have done. We have been blessed to share such an enjoyable week."
