The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Golf team completed another solid season in 2013-2014 as they finished 2nd at the Mid-South Conference Championships.  With the team just missing out on a trip to the NAIA National Championship Tournament, Head Coach Chris Kraftick and his staff have been busy recruiting for the 2014-2015 season, looking to make a return to the biggest tournament of the season.  The Patriots are excited to announce the newest addition to the Patriot squad, Ryan Woods.

Woods hails from Ely, Cambridgeshire, England where he attended the City of Ely School.  Ryan has had a stellar 2013-2014 season as he currently is the captain of his Under 18 home club team.  He ranks 2nd in points total for the county Under 18 team and is 3rd in Boys County Championships.  He also won three individual championships this season to go along with two team championships.  Woods' low round of the year was 3 under par while his current scoring average sits at 73.

When asked about coming to UC, Woods said, "The University of the Cumberlands offers exactly what I have been looking for in a university: a great, well run golf team along with exceptional academics.  I believe UC will give me the best chance to develop into the best golfer and person I can be."

Coach Kraftick added, "Ryan is a talented player who was drawn to how we run our program.  He is committed to getting better and that's our goal here at UC.  I'm really excited about the level of young talent we will have on the roster this year."
