The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team escaped another close match-up on the road Saturday afternoon as they faced the Rams of Bluefield College.  With exceptional shooting from behind the three-point line once again, the Patriots clung to a 73-71 win.  With the victory, Cumberlands moves to 15-9 overall and 7-7 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play.

Cumberlands demonstrated their depth in every position, as the Patriots had multiple players play key minutes throughout the game.  Shooting an impressive 54% from the field and 53% from three-point land, the Patriots were able to hold off the physical Rams who excelled the majority of the night in the paint.

R.J. Scott (Slidell, LA) led the way for Cumberlands scoring 17 points along with his 6 rebounds.  James Archie (Jackson, MS) finally was able to suit up for the Patriots after being sidelined the last few weeks with an injury, scoring 14 points in his first game back, while Michael Dow (Melbourne, Australia) chipped in 12 points of his own.

The Patriots will travel to the University of Pikeville Monday as they face the Bears in a make-up game which was cancelled last Thursday due to inclement weather conditions.  Tip-off is set for 5:00 pm.
