The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Tennis teams are in the midst of beginning their 2014 season.  With a solid schedule ahead of them and a lot of talent in the Patriot squad this year, the Patriots look to make a splash in the Mid-South Conference (MSC) as well as the NAIA.  The NAIA Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll was recently released and both teams were mentioned. 

The men's team received votes in the preseason poll released on Tuesday.  The Patriots received 8 total points, placing them 34th in the NAIA.  Embry-Riddle (Fla.) garnered all 13 first place votes to top the poll with 343 total points.  Other notable teams in the men's poll include Lindsey Wilson (#6), Cumberland University (#8), University of Pikeville (#21), and Campbellsville University (#23).  Asbury University also received votes in the preseason poll.

The women's team also received votes in their preseason poll released on Tuesday.  The Patriot ladies received 42 total points, placing them 28th in the NAIA.  Auburn Montgomery (Ala.) earned all 13 first place votes to put them at #1 in the preseason poll with 343 total points.  Other notable teams in the women's poll include Lindsey Wilson (#4), Cumberland University (#18), and Campbellsville University (#21). 

The Patriot men will kick their season off on February 8th as they host Lincoln Memorial University (LMU).  Matches are set to begin at 12:00 pm.  The Patriot ladies, currently 0-1 on the year, will also host LMU on February 8th with serves starting at noon.
