The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team extended their early season winning streak Saturday as they traveled to Life University to face the Running Eagles. With aggressive defense and strong work on the glass, the Patriots were able to rally an 81-74 victory. With the win, the Patriots move to 2-2 on the season.
Although Cumberlands struggled to find their rhythm in the first half and trailed the Running Eagles after 20 minutes of play, the Patriots worked hard to decrease their turnover count and created open looks in transition. Knocking in 47 second half points, the Patriots came away with an 81-74 win and a victory over an NAIA Top 25 opponent.
UC was led by freshman Michael Dow (Melbourne, Australia) who scored a game-high 19 points in 26 minutes of play. Chance Armstrong (Mt. Washington, KY) and James Archie (Jackson, MS) both pitched in 15 points each, while R.J. Scott (Slidell, LA) and Shaquille Lowery (East Moline, LA) chipped in 12 points and 10 points respectively.
The Patriots will look to keep things going as they host Hiwassee College on Tuesday, November 12th at 7:00 pm.
