The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Soccer program had a solid regular season finishing the year at 8-7-1 overall with a Mid-South Conference (MSC) record of 6-3. With this finish, the Patriots earned the #4 seed in this year's MSC Tournament which entitles them to host the first round of the tournament.
The #4 seed Patriots will host #5 seed Cumberland University on Saturday in the MSC Quarterfinals. This will be the 2nd time the Patriots have hosted the Bulldogs this season as UC came away with an exciting 2-1 overtime victory on October 1st. Zach Bell (Hawarden, Wales) put the Patriots on top in the game in the 62nd minute before Tom Reilly of Cumberland University would tie the game in the 85th minute, sending it to overtime. In the 99th minute, it was Pedro Antonelli (Mairipord, Brazil) scoring off a header off a gorgeous cross from Austen Aiman (Kansas City, MO) to give UC the 2-1 win.
The Patriots and Bulldogs will kick off in Williamsburg on Saturday November 9th at 2:00 pm. Live stats and live video will be available online at www.cumberlandspatriots.com but you are encouraged to attend to cheer on the Patriots to victory.
