The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Volleyball team continued their fantastic season this week as they hosted Bluefield College and the University of Pikeville for matches on Friday and Saturday.  The Patriots came out ready to play both days as they came away with two dominating victories sweeping both teams.

On Friday night, the Patriots took on the Bluefield Rams and were successful, winning in 3 straight set by scores of 25-12, 25-16, 25-11.  The ladies offense was on point as Morgan Schlatter (Springboro, OH) led with 9 kills.  Following her were Megan Ganser (Waterloo, WI) with 8 kills and Celine Du Toit (Alpharetta, GA) with 7 kills.  Sydney Beck (Lebanon, OH) was a great help for the back row as the tallied 8 defensive digs.  Samantha Stuckwisch (Seymour, IN) yet again was a phenomenal help with a total of 26 assists for the Patriots.

On Saturday afternoon, the Patriots carried over their momentum from the previous night as they swept the University of Pikeville Bears in straight sets by scores of 25-15, 25-12, 25-9.  Ganser again was on her "A" game Saturday as she had 9 kills on the day.  Following behind her was Kelsey Eastham (Ostrander, OH) with 8 kills of her own.  Abby Dundon (Lexington, KY) helped the ladies out tremendously with 13 defensive digs.  Stuckwisch helped her team out with 27 big assists.

The Patriots, now 16-7 overall and 8-6 in MSC play, will be back in action on Tuesday again at home as they take on the Kentucky State University Thoroughbreds. First serve is set for 7pm. This will also be the Patriots' Breast Cancer Awareness game.  Everyone is invited to wear pink. The team will have a variety of baked goods for sale with all proceeds going to helping find a cure for breast cancer.
