The University of the Cumberlands (formerly Cumberland College) is pleased to announce the signing of Ashley Honaker (Huntington, WV).

Honaker will be coming to Cumberlands from Huntington High School. She has garnered several awards while in high school and with her club team. In high school her 2003 team was the state runner-up, in 2004 they were the state champions, in 2003 she was named to the first team All-MSAC, in 2005 she was named to second team All-MSAC, and in 2005 she was first team all-state. Her club team honors include being the 2000 and 2002 West Virginia State Champions and the 2002 Snickers Cup Champions.

Head Coach Aron Bassoff had this to say about Honaker, ?Ashley is a great addition to the team. She has a good touch and awareness on the field. I expect that she will come in and compete for playing time right away and has the potential to start. I was very impressed in her workout with the team with her determination and communication. We look forward to having her for the next 4 years.?
