The University of the Cumberlands (UC) is coming off an impressive opening weekend as they defeated the Union College Bulldogs 52-21 in the Battle for the Brass Lantern. The Patriots were clicking offensively as they were able to pile up 599 yards of total offense. One player stood above the rest this week as he was named Mid-South Conference (MSC) Offensive Player of the Week.
Terrance Cobb (Knoxville, TN) was a force for the Patriots as he helped lead the rushing attack racking up 228 yards on 23 carries for 3 touchdowns. His best run of the game helped seal the victory for the Patriots as he pulled off a 59 yard touchdown run to make it 38-21 Patriots. That run also gave Terrance the school record for most rushing yards in a career as he ended the day with 4,113 yards.
Terrance and the Patriots must now look forward to this week as they try to continue on their quest for a MSC title. Next up for the Patriots will be the Cumberland University Bulldogs. That game will be on Saturday September 7th at 1:30 pm at James H. Taylor, II Stadium.
