The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Soccer program is coming off a successful second season under Head Coach Brenton Benware. Benware and his coaching staff are making as many preparations as possible for the upcoming 2013-2014 season and have signed a stellar incoming freshman class so far. Another name that can be added to the Patriot program next season is Matthew Worley.
Matthew is the son of Mike and Vicki Worley and hails from Knoxville, TN where he will graduate from Gibbs High School. Worley plays the striker position. His senior year he scored 54 goals and had a high school career high of 146 goals.
Worley had this to say about his recent signing with the Patriots, "I am very excited to play for the University of the Cumberlands. The campus is beautiful, and I really like Coach Benware. It is far enough away from home but not too far, and they have the academic programs I am interested in."
Benware added, "Matt is an excellent addition to our offensive attack. He's proven himself as a goal-scorer, backed by his 54 goals this past season for his high school team. He's also a quality young man that will help with team cohesion. His parents attended UC, so it's fun to have Matt carrying on that tradition in his family."
