Women's Golf - Thu, May. 2, 2013

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Golf has had a stellar spring season, winning multiple tournaments, most importantly placing 1st in the Mid-South Conference (MSC) tournament in April. With that win, the Patriot ladies have their eyes set on the ultimate prize, the NAIA National Championship. Coach Chris Kraftick and staff are working to improve the Patriots' chances as they already are also looking forward to next year and the addition of another stellar talent.

UC is proud to announce the signing of Annabeth McKay for the fall of 2013.  Annabeth attends Tascosa High School and hails from Amarillo, Texas.  While participating in golf there, Annabeth has played the number one seed on the team for the past three years.  She also won numerous awards and participated in the Jr PGA tournament with five wins.

McKay has been Tascosa's No. 1 golfer each of the past three years and had eight wins in her high school career, including the District 2-5A championship in 2012.

When asked about joining the program here at UC, Annabeth commented, "The University of the Cumberlands team has a goal to win a national championship in golf. I want to be a part of that journey."

Coach Kraftick added, "Annabeth is a great find for us and a player we think has tremendous potential. She is driven and motivated to be great and has a wonderful support system."
