The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Archery program has finished their regular season competition in spectacular fashion, with first, second and third place finishes in every competition thus far. Head Coach Kris Strebeck hopes to only build off this as he continues to recruit to make his team even better. Strebeck and the Patriots are proud to announce the signing of South Laurel High School duo Korey Snyder and Dylan Martin who will begin participating in the fall of 2013.
Snyder is the son of Larry and Konnie Snyder and hails from London, KY. Korey will graduate in May from South Laurel High School. During his archery career, Korey has shot with the SLHS archery team since the fourth grade. He has also had five top placements in the region, as well as the nation and top ten in worlds.
When asked about joining UC, Korey mentioned, "I am very excited about attending UC in the fall and being able to shoot archery will be a great plus on top of what was already a great school. I will be excited to be able to shoot again with some of my fellow team members from South Laurel like Dylan Martin, and Caleb and Cody Kirby."
Teammate Dylan Martin is the son of Jim and Kellie Martin and hails from Keavy, KY. He will also graduate from South Laurel High School in May. During his archery career, Dylan has had multiple first place finishes in county and regional competitions.
"I am looking forward to becoming a part of the University of the Cumberlands small classroom environment to further my education along with becoming part of the archery team for the next four years," Martin commented about his recent signing with the Patriots.
Head Coach Kris Strebeck commented, "Korey and Dylan both have great shots, and I am excited to see the additions they will make for our team on and off the range."
