The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Archery program is halfway through its first season in school history, and it has been nothing but impressive.  They have had strong finishes in both tournaments they have competed in thus far.  Head Coach Kris Strebeck hopes to only build off this as he continues to recruit to make his team even better. Strebeck and the Patriots are proud to announce the signing of Ryan Long who will begin participating in the fall of 2013.

Long is the son of Winston and Julia Long and hails from Richmond, KY.  Ryan will graduate in May from Madison Central High School.   In 2011, he placed 4th at the NASP Nationals and 1st in NASP Region 9.  In addition in 2012, he placed third at the NASP Nationals and second at the NASP World. In 2013, he has been named the Regional 9 Overall Male.

When asked about joining UC, Ryan mentioned, "The school is very nice, and the team treated me like family. I am excited to begin my journey as a Patriot."

Head Coach Kris Strebeck commented, "Ryan has been very successful in the National Archery in the School Program (NASP) over the last several years. He has also been successful on the Archery Shooter Association (ASA) circuit. He was also shooter of the year in his ASA class last year. We are looking forward to him joining the UC Archery team."
