The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Golf Team has been very successful this year, and they plan to continue their legacy in the upcoming spring season. Head Coach Chris Kraftick has been out on the recruiting trail trying to find other young talent to add to a solid roster for the fall and has been successful as Sadie Martinez has signed to play for the Patriots in 2013-2014.

Martinez attends Northwest Catholic School in Hartford, CT where she has had a stellar career. She was a member of Northwest Catholic's All Conference team in 2012 and was named MVP. She has won a number of Junior Championships and was also a recipient of the 2012 PGA Junior Ryder Cup Academy Scholarship.

"Sadie fit in right away on her visit to UC and her friendship with another 2013 signee Rachel Pingleton helped us make initial contact with Sadie. She had a wonderful junior golf career in the New England area and we're excited to bring her south and watch her develop on the college level," commented Kraftick.

When asked about signing with UC, Martinez said, "I look forward to the next chapter of my life at UC. I am extremely excited to play golf for UC, and when I made my visit back in January, I knew that it was the right fit for me because of the great golf program and academics. My goal is to excel on and off the golf course."
