The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Swim teams is in their final stages of preparation as they head to Oklahoma City, OK for the NAIA Swimming National Championships. With over 20 swimmers qualified for the event, the Patriots also carry a high ranking into the meet as they look to come home with an NAIA National Championship.
On Friday, the final NAIA women's swimming and diving coaches' poll was released and the Patriots continued their run in the NAIA Top 5 as they came in at #3 for the poll receiving 14 points. The Patriots were ranked behind #1 SCAD Savannah who collected 3 of the 5 first place votes and 26 points overall. Oklahoma Baptist fell from the #1 spot to #2 receiving the final 2 first place votes and receiving 24 points.
The poll is voted upon by a panel of head coaches from the NAIA Swimming & Diving Coaches Association. The postseason poll will be released on March 8th.
The Patriots that qualified will be competing this week, February 27th - March 2nd, in the NAIA Swimming & Diving National Championships hosted by Oklahoma City Community College in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
