The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Volleyball program is coming off a successful season in 2012-2013 ending the year with an 18-12 record overall and 7-8 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play.  Head Coach Kara Clemenz and staff have been hard on the recruiting trail this offseason to bring in some great talent to build upon a solid core of returners.  The Patriots are proud to announce the signing of Josey Mounce for the 2013-2014 season.

Mounce is the daughter of Rick and Tracey Bryant and Angela and Mark Mounce and hails from Williamsburg, Kentucky.  She will graduate from South Laurel High School in May.  While the 5'2" star was in high school, she also played for the Horizon Volleyball club team.

When asked about joining the UC program, Josey said, "After going on many different college visits, I felt that Cumberlands was the best fit for me. All the girls were very nice as well as Coach K. I am very excited about playing volleyball in college."

Coach Clemenz added, "I have known Josey since she was in the 5th grade. Over the years I have had the pleasure of watching her grow into the athlete she is today. As a DS, I love the fact that she will do whatever it takes to keep the ball off the floor. Josey is an extremely hard worker and we welcome her to the 2013 team."
