The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's tennis teams are continuing the start of their 2012-2013 season as they traveled on Saturday to Louisville, Kentucky to take on Bellarmine University.  Although UC put up a solid effort, it was Bellarmine who came out victorious on both the men and women's side.

For the men, it was Ariez Heshaam (Kuching, Malaysia) coming away victorious in one match as he knocked off Anton Rabinov in three sets by scores of 6-7, 6-2, 10-5.  Danilo Garcia (Quito, Ecuador) also came away with a win in three sets as he defeated Carlos Antonioli 2-6, 7-6, 13-11.  The final win of the day came for Eric Mikhlin (Edgewater, NJ) as he knocked off Bryan Skaggs in just one set by a score of 9-7.  The Patriots unfortunately dropped the other three singles matches and all three doubles matches as they fell to Bellarmine 6-3.

The women were not as fortunate as they fell to Bellarmine by a score of 7-1.  The lone Patriot to earn a victory was Neesha Thirumalaichelvam (Selangor, Malaysia) as she defeated Evann Waschuk in straight sets by scores of 6-2, 6-2.  The Patriots dropped all three doubles competitions as well as 4 of 5 other singles matches, but were very competitive in each match on the day.

The Patriots will be back in action on Wednesday February 13th as they will host Lincoln Memorial for their first home match of the season.  Matches are set to begin at 2:00 pm.
