The University of the Cumberlands (UC) basketball programs are continuing very successful seasons as they open up their 2nd half of the season this week.  The Patriot ladies are returning to the floor after spending part of the holiday showcasing their talents in Honolulu, Hawaii at the Hoop and Surf Classic.  The Patriot men hit the hardwood on the 29th resuming play after dropping their first game of the season to IU-Southeast on December 14th

The Patriot ladies went 1-1 over the holidays improving their record to 9-4 overall after defeating Doane College 56-50 before falling to the NAIA D-II #1 ranked Concordia University 59-53.  The Patriot men started off the 2nd half of the season strong on Saturday the 29th as they defeated Tennessee Wesleyan College 100-83 to improve to 13-1 overall on the season. 

Both teams will be back in action on Thursday as the chunk of their Mid-South Conference (MSC) schedule is still awaiting them.  The Patriots will open up that part of their schedule on Thursday January 3rd as they host rival Georgetown College for a big MSC doubleheader.  Tipoff for the women's game is set for 6:00 pm with the men to follow at 8:00 pm.  They will then have the short turnaround on Saturday as they will host another MSC rival St. Catharine College for another doubleheader.  Women will begin play at 2:00 pm with the men to follow at 4:00 pm.
