The University of the Cumberlands (UC) men and women's swim teams have been very successful thus far in the 2012-2013 season as they have come away with some big victories and great finishes.  With the great starts for both programs, the NAIA has taken notice as both teams have been voted into the top 5 teams in the country.

The Patriot ladies earn the highest mark possible as they were voted #1 in the NAIA with 3 of the 5 first place votes and 22 total points.  Oklahoma Baptist earned the other 2 first place votes and currently sit at #2 with 21 total points.  SCAD Savannah closely follows at #3 with 20 total points.

The Patriots return their lone All-American from last season in Charlotte Parent (Braine-l'allaud, Belgium) and lead 13 top-time categories. Cumberlands has claimed the top times in the 100-meter backstroke, 100-meter breaststroke, 100-meter butterfly, 200-meter backstroke, 200-meter individual medley, 1,000-meter freestyle, 1,650-meter freestyle, 1-meter dive, 100-meter freestyle relay, 100-meter medley relay, 400-meter freestyle relay, 400-meter medley relay and 800-meter freestyle relay.

The Patriot men's team earned the #4 spot in the NAIA poll as they also garnered one of the 5 first place votes and 13 total points.  Oklahoma Baptist earned the #1 spot in the poll as they received the remaining 4 first place votes and 27 total points.

The men's team has won every meet this year with the exception of two meets to NCAA D-I opponents Xavier University and Western Kentucky University.  Their wins include victories over NAIA #5 Union College, Lindsey Wilson, King College, Milligan College, and a victory at the University of the South Invite.

Both the men and women's swim teams will be back in action on Saturday December 8th as they travel to take on Campbellsville University for a dual meet.  Swims are set to begin at 11:00 am.
