On Saturday, November 10th the University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Wrestling Team will be hosting their annual Patriot Open beginning at 9:00 am in the O. Wayne Rollins Center and the Intramural Gym located on the UC campus.

The tournament will host some of the top teams in country from the NAIA, NCAA Division II, and NCAA Division I.  Among those in attendance will be Mid-South Conference (MSC) opponents #2 Campbellsville University and #18 Cumberland University (TN), as well as DII Shorter University.  In all the Patriot Open will host over 200 total wrestlers, making this the largest wrestling tournament in the state of Kentucky.

"We are expecting a great turnout for the Patriot Open," said Head Coach Matt Lowers.  "There will be many top ranked wrestlers from not only the NAIA but also, Division II, JUCO and the NCWA.  This is our first competition of the season so we are excited to not only see our kids wrestle in their first matches of the year, but against top competition in front of our home crowd is an added benefit."

The Patriots enter the tournament ranked #5 in the nation looking to make a jump in the standing with an impressive showing against the nation's elite.  Tickets to the event are $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for students, and free to UC students with their University ID.
