The 2012 Mid-South Conference Men's Soccer Tournament begins on Saturday with four quarterfinal matches at various sites across the conference. The tournament's semifinals and finals are scheduled for Nov. 7-8 on Lindsey Wilson College's campus in Columbia, Ky.
The higher seeded teams earned the right to host Saturday's quarterfinal matches based on their regular season finish in the MSC standings.
Top-seed and MSC regular season champion University of Rio Grande (13-1-1, 9-0 in the MSC) hosts Shawnee State University (4-13, 3-6) at 7:30 p.m. ET. Rio Grande defeated Shawnee State 1-0 in double overtime on Oct. 9.
No. 2-seed Lindsey Wilson College (15-1, 8-1) hosts St. Catharine College (7-10, 3-6) at 8:30 p.m. ET. Lindsey Wilson beat the Patriots 8-1 on Aug. 25.
The tournament's No. 3-seed Campbellsville University (12-4-1, 7-2) plays host to sixth-seeded Cumberland University (6-9-1, 4-5) at 8:30 p.m. ET. Campbellsville won the regular season meeting 4-0 on Sept. 19.
The final quarterfinal match features No. 4-seed University of the Cumberlands (8-6-1, 5-4) and fifth-seeded Bluefield College (8-9, 4-5). Cumberlands won the regular season meeting 4-2 on Sept. 12. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET.
The quarterfinal winners advance to the tournament's semifinals played at Lindsey Wilson.
The semifinals are scheduled for 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Nov. 7 with the championship match slated for 8:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, Nov. 8.
