The University of the Cumberlands (UC) has had a very successful season going 8-1 on the year with a 3-1 record in Mid-South Conference (MSC) East Division play. A chunk of their success over the past few weeks has been due to the running game and one certain Patriot has ensured that with his performances which earned him another honor.
Along with being named MSC and NAIA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, Terrance Cobb (Knoxville, TN) was also recognized as a BSN Athlete of the Week as well.
In Saturday's thwarting of Campbellsville, Cobb set numerous school records as he carried the ball 27 times for 327 yards and 3 touchdowns. His 327 yards for the game is now the single game record for rushing yards which gives him 1,472 yards on the year. He also broke the single season record for rushing yards as well as single season record for touchdowns as he now has 21 on the season. He also has scored 126 points for UC this season, another single season record.
Cobb has now rushed for at least 250 yards and 3 touchdowns in three consecutive games. He currently leads the MSC and NAIA in rushing yards, rushing yards per game (163.3 ypg), rushing touchdowns, and all purpose yards (1,650). Cobb has been nothing short of spectacular these past few weeks and doesn't look to slow down any time soon
Cobb and the Patriots will carry this momentum into Saturday's game as they travel to Grayson, KY to take on Kentucky Christian University who is carrying a 4 game winning streak into this weekend's showdown. Kickoff is set for 1:30 pm.
