On Saturday, October 27th the University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Soccer team hosted Mid-South Conference (MSC) opponent Campbellsville University for a tough conference matchup. The Patriots battled throughout before eventually falling to the Tigers by a score of 3-1.
In the first half it was all Campbellsville as they took the 3-0 lead after a goal by Toria Alsip, just 30 seconds into the game, and two goals by Jessica Ralph.
In the second half, Cumberlands held the Tigers scoreless and were able to come together to score their lone goal when Victoria Paynter (Sulphur, KY) found the back of the net. Goalie Autumn Williams (Lexington, KY) saved 6 goals from being scored on the Patriots.
On the season UC is 4-11 (1-8 MSC) heading into their next matchup on Tuesday, October 30th at home against Asbury College starting at 1:00 pm.
