The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Patriot Volleyball team took on Johnson University (previously Johnson Bible College) on Thursday August 30th.  The Patriots came into the game 0-2 and were hungry for their first win.

Cumberlands came out a little sluggish at first in game one but bounced back quickly with a big win 25-11.  The Patriots found a rhythm quickly and earned two more game victories to seal the match by a 3-0 margin, earning their first win on the young season.  Final scores of the games were 25-11, 25-19, and 25-19.

Stacey Sebald (Cincinnati, OH) led the Patriots on the offensive attack with 8 kills on the night.  Kelsey Eastham (Urbana, OH) followed just behind with 7 kills of her own.  Junior Abby Dundon (Lexington, KY) pitched in her share with 16 assists in the match while freshman Samantha Stuckwisch (Seymour, IN) added 8 assists.  Senior Chelsea Hendrix (Seymour, IN) once again led the team in defensive digs with 13. Freshman Morgan Schlatter (Springboro, OH) and Sebald both accumulated 9 digs as well.

The Patriots will be back in action on Tuesday, September 4th as they travel to compete against Kentucky State.  First match begins at 7 PM.
