On Saturday, September 1st, University of the Cumberlands (UC) football program will be opening the 2012 season at home against Mid-South Conference (MSC) foe Belhaven University at 1:30 pm. On this day, theCumberlands Football to Host Military Appreciation Day Patriots will be honoring and recognizing all former and current members of the Armed Forces as the football team will be holding their inaugural Military Appreciation Day.
Head Football Coach John Bland and his football team would like to invite all Armed Forces members from the University, community, and surrounding areas to join them for this memorable moment.
"We are excited to open the 2012 Patriot football season in conjunction with Military Appreciation Day," said Bland. "We want to express our thanks to all those who have sacrificed for us and our freedom. We are honored to be the host of such a special event."
All current or former members of the Armed Forces will be admitted to the game for free. The Patriots will be chasing after their fifth Mid-South Conference (MSC) Championship in the last six years. Armed Forces members will also receive recognition throughout the game.
