The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Soccer program is off and running with their preseason camp on campus in Williamsburg.  Head Coach Brenton Benware and staff have been working hard with their team preparing for the upcoming 2012-2013 season and the hard work is paying off.  This year's edition of the NAIA Preseason Top 25 poll has been released and the coaches around the country see the Patriots among the elite in the NAIA.

UC will kick off the 2012-2013 season receiving votes in the NAIA Preseason Top 25 Poll.  Ranked 3rd in the Mid-South Conference (MSC), the Patriots received 14 points, placing them just under Lubbock Christian University of Texas.  Cumberlands finished last season with a season record of 10-6-2 and a Mid-South Conference record of 5-2.

Two other MSC teams have been voted into the Top 25 in the NAIA.  Defending NAIA National Champions Lindsey Wilson College was ranked in 1st place with a total of 529 points, holding the top spot for the sixth year in a row.  This breaks a tie for holding the number one spot the most with fellow MSC competitor, the University of Rio Grande, who has been voted 4th in the NAIA Poll with a total of 479 points.

Coach Benware commented, "It's great to be recognized in the NAIA preseason poll.  We have a lot to accomplish this season before we'll be content, though.  It's also exciting to see Lindsey Wilson and Rio Grande representing our Mid-South Conference well as both are ranked high in the national poll."

The Patriots will begin their regular season on September 1st at Bryan College with game time scheduled for 7:30 pm.
