During his sophomore season, he helped lead the Fireants to a season record of 37-18 and a runner-up finish in the NJCAA Region X tournament.  As a freshman, the Fireants won a NJCAA Region X Championship on the way to a 41-11 record.  He was a part of a sophomore class that included 14 players who are moving on to four year schools with seven of those will be playing NCAA Division I baseball this fall.

Currently he is playing in the Beach Collegiate Baseball League in Myrtle Beach, SC.  He is playing for the Sumter Stingrays and is hitting .435 helping the Stingrays vault to the top of the standings with a 14-1 record. He has thrown out 3 of 7 would be base stealers.

Coach Shelton commented about Belote, "Jon-Jon is an experienced player who was a part of a very successful junior college program at USC-Sumter.  Coach Gali and Coach Duffie saw Jon-Jon at a recent tournament and were impressed with how hard he played.  He is has a strong arm and some gap power offensively.  We are happy that he is joining us in the fall."
