University of the Cumberlands Baseball Coach Brad Shelton announces the signing of Matt Madrigal, a transfer from Mendocino Community College in California.
In 2012, Madrigal was named All Bay Valley Conference Honorable Mention for his work in the outfield. For the season, the left handed hitting outfielder hit .283 with 32 hits, and an on base percentage of .396. He also stole seven bases and fielded .965 while roaming the outfield. Currently, Madrigal is playing in the Mountain Collegiate Baseball League for the Cheyenne Grizzlies in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Coach Shelton had this to say about the signing of Matt Madrigal, "Matt gives us a left handed bat in the outfield who does a good job of working the count and finding a way to get on base. He can play all three spots in the outfield as well as the infield."
