The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Golf program ended its year on a great note as they finished in 5thplace at the 2012 NAIA National Championship tournament.  With a great year under the belt, one particular Patriot has garnered more national attention as he was named an All-American by two separate organizations.

Senior Aaron Watkins (Harlan, KY) was recently named a 1stTeam NAIA Men's Golf All-American as well as a 1stTeam PING All-American.

The Ping All-America Team is voted on by the Golf Coaches Association of America while the NAIA All-American Team is selected by the NAIA All-America committee.  This is the third straight year that Watkins has earned some type of honors from both organizations.  Aaron was named a 1stTeam NAIA All-American and 2ndTeam PING All-American in 2011.  He also was named a 3rdTeam NAIA All-American and 3rdTeam PING All-American in 2010.

Watkins also earned a plethora of honors throughout the 2012 season including the MSC Golfer of the Week four separate times and the MSC Player of the Year award for the 2012 season.

Head Coach Chris Kraftick commented, "Aaron is well deserving of all the All-American honors he has received this post season.  He has had a tremendous career at UC and it's been an honor to coach him.  Everyone at UC wishes him the best as he launches his Professional Golf career."
