The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Soccer program is coming off a very successful first season under Head Coach Brenton Benware. He, along with his coaching staff, have hit the recruiting trail head on for the 2012-2013 season and have done well so far. The Patriot program is pleased to announce the signing of Sean Marshall.
Marshall is the son of Pat and Debbie Marshall and hails from Ryland Heights, Kentucky. He will be graduated from Scott High School in May. While at Scott High School, Sean has been a four year varsity player at Scott High School while being named the 2011 Team Captain and a member of the 2011 All District Tournament Team. He led his team in assists in 2011 while being third on the team in scoring. Marshall helped lead his team to District Championships in 2009, 2010, and 2011 while winning Regional Championships in 2009 and 2010. He was also named a Kentucky Enquirer Boys' Soccer All-Star Honorable Mention.
When asked about joining the program at UC Sean said, "I really liked the campus and the friendly people. I am looking forward to continuing my education at Cumberlands and playing soccer for the Patriots. I felt very at home during my visits and hope to make a significant contribution to the soccer team."
Benware commented, "Sean is a really good fit for our program. He's a natural midfielder that brings very good technical ability and work ethic. I think he will work very hard to work his way up within our program and I'm excited to watch his development and contribution over the next four years."
