The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Tennis team has had an up and down season in 2012, but overall have done well in conference play putting them in the 4thseed going into this weekend's Mid-South Conference (MSC) Tournament.  On Thursday night, the MSC held its yearly banquet for the teams and the Patriot ladies came away with some high honors.

Patriot sophomore Neesha Thirumalaichelvam (Selangor, Malaysia) was named to the Mid-South Conference first team. This honor was voted upon by coaches around the MSC. Cumberlands junior Shelby Muff (Union, KY) was also named an MSC All-Conference Honorable Mention selection.

Five Patriot ladies were also named MSC Academic All-Conference selections. To be named Academic All-Conference, the student athlete must maintain at least a 3.25 grade point average and be a sophomore or higher in academic standing. Cumberlands senior Kaitlin Smith (Erlanger, KY), and sophomores Bailey Mays (Clinton, TN), Brittany Wills (Whitesburg, KY), Lindsay Collette (London, KY), and Samantha Taylor (Owensboro, KY) earned this high honor this season.
