The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Wrestling Team has had a good season thus far and are looking to take that momentum into the NAIA National Tournament.  One certain Patriot has had an edge all year and this past week surged once again to earn the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Wrestler of the Week Award.

Larone Madison (Riviera Beach, FL) was named the MSC Wrestler of the Week on Monday February 13th.  It is Madison's third time capturing the award this year as he won the honor on December 5thand January 16th

When the Patriots Men's Wrestling Team traveled to take on Shorter College in a dual meet on Feb 11, Larone dominated his opponent Jonathan Rodriguez at the 125 lbs. weight-class with a score of 24-7, which earned a technical fall and a win to start off the Patriots in the dual.

The team captain and senior ended his regular season with a 25-3 overall record.  Madison stated, "It's always an honor to receive something like this.  It helps to show your hard work is paying off and I'm on the right track to where I want to be at the end of the year."

Madison and the Patriots return to action on Saturday, Feb. 18 as the Patriots host the NAIA Eastern Region Qualifier in Williamsburg, Ky.
