The Mid-South Conference (MSC) has announced the women's soccer All Conference athletic honors and academic awards for the 2011 season.
The All-Conference soccer teams are nominated and voted on by the coaches of the MSC, and the coaches may not vote for their own players. All-Conference Academic awards are given to those athletes who are sophomore or higher in class and hold a 3.25 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.
University of the Cumberlands Patriot junior Danna Stringle (Ontario, Canada) was selected to the All Mid-South Conference team for her talents in the forward position. Stringle made nine goals on the season, including two in the first round of the MSC tournament helping the team advance to the semi-finals.
Junior Toni Dempsey (Australia) and senior Jessica Posey (Harrison, OH) were chosen for the Honorable Mention All-Conference award. Dempsey contributed to the Patriots as a midfielder and Posey as a defender.
Three Patriot team members worked as hard in the classroom as they did on the field to receive the All MSC Academic award: Toni Dempsey, sophomore Mallory Gruenenfelder (Sweetwater, TN), and senior Tiffany Miller (Coxs Creek, KY).
