Finishing up their regular season conference games, the University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Soccer Team fell 2-5 against Georgetown College on Tuesday October 25th. The Patriots also competed against Asbury University on Saturday October 29thwhere they fell 2-3 in overtime.
Against Georgetown, 16 shots were attempted. Ginger Johnson (London, KY) and Danna Stringle (Ontario, Canada) both had one goal each and goalie Brittney Gadd (Mercer, PA) totaled 8 saves for the contest.
On Saturday, UC faced off in their last regular season game of the season against the Asbury Eagles. Danna Stringle (Ontario, Canada) helped UC go into the second half in the lead by one goal, with her two goals during the game and an assist from Fernanda Ramirez in the 18thminute.
Asbury's, Kaitlyn Hooper reacted to Stringle's goal by scoring another goal to tie up the game and force the ladies to take the game into overtime. Hooper secured the win for Asbury earning the game winning goal as the Patriots fell 2-3 in overtime.
Brittney Gadd had 6 saves for the Patriots against the Eagles. Stringle also had 4 shots on goal, out of UC's 6. The Patriots wrap up the 2011 regular season with a 7-10 record.
