The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Soccer Team was looking to rebound this week after a disappointing week last week and did so as they went 2-0 with wins over won both the Golden Bears of West Virginia Tech on Monday and on Thursday against the St. Catherine Patriots. These victories brought the Patriots' record to 4-5 on the season.
The Patriots scored two goals in each half on Monday against West Virginia Tech before giving up a goal in the 2nd half ending the game in a 4-1 victory over the Golden Bears. Goalkeeper Brittany Gadd (Mercer, PA) secured the win recording 4 saves during the game.
On Thursday, the Patriots displayed great team work throughout the game as they were able to shutout the Patriots of St. Catharine. The only goal of the game was shot by sophomore Ginger Johnson (London, KY) in the 18th minute of the game. Goalkeeper Gadd completed the shutout with 6 saves on the day.
The Patriots will be back in action on October 4that home in a Mid-South Conference game against the Campbellsville Tigers at 2:00 p.m.
